Getting Started

How do I add players and build a team?

Open Team Builder from the settings bar, add your players, and set your team names. Then use Setup Builder to create a formation with named positions, and drag players onto the field.

How do I start the game clock?

Tap the play button next to the clock to start. The clock pulses for alerts and can be corrected at any time from Timer Options if you forget to pause or resume.

Substitutions & Playing Time

How do I make a substitution?

What do the colored meters mean?

Each player card shows live time meters: total minutes played, current on-field stint, and bench rest time. The stint indicator flashes when a player reaches your sub interval so no one gets forgotten on the field.

What is Sub History?

Every change is logged with the game time. Open the Sub History drawer to flash back through your substitutions and see who came on for whom.

Alerts

How do I change or turn off alerts?

In Timer Options you can set the sub-alert interval, schedule hydration breaks, enable a half-time alert, exclude the goalie from alerts, and turn vibrations off entirely (the clock still pulses and cards still flash).

Apple Watch

The watch isn't showing my game.

Make sure the Watch app is installed and your watch is paired and nearby. The watch mirrors the currently active game — open the game on your iPhone first, then check your wrist. If it still doesn't sync, relaunch both apps.

Sharing

How does Live Share work?

Live Share mirrors your game to nearby devices on the same Wi-Fi network. Tap the antenna icon to host, and the game appears on the other device.

How do I send a saved game to another coach?

In Saved Game States, tap the share button on a saved game. The app creates an encrypted .smgame file that you can send by AirDrop, Mail, or Messages.

The shared file won't open when I tap it in Messages.

Because the file is encrypted, it can't be opened straight from the Messages conversation. Instead:

  1. Save the file first — tap it, then choose Save to Files (or use AirDrop, which opens the app directly).
  2. Open the Files app and tap the saved .smgame file.
  3. Soccer Manager Pro launches and asks you to confirm the import.

Tip: AirDrop is the quickest way to share between two devices — the receiving device opens the app and prompts to import automatically.

Data & Privacy

Where is my data stored?

Everything stays on your device. The app has no account and collects no data. See our Privacy Policy.

I got a new phone — how do I move my data?

Use Share on a saved game to send it to your new device, or restore your device from an iCloud/encrypted backup, which includes the app's local data.
